FAQ
Everything you need to know about AI embroidery digitizing.
Yes. StitchFast generates proper binary embroidery files using pyembroidery. DST works on virtually every commercial machine. PES works on Brother and Babylock. JEF works on Janome and Elna. Max stitch lengths and colour changes are handled correctly. See our full format comparison guide.
Clean logos, text, and artwork with solid colours produce the best results. PNG files with transparent backgrounds give the cleanest output. Complex photographs with gradients will work but may require higher colour counts.
When you upload an image, AI analyses the design and identifies distinct regions, suggests the best stitch type for each area, recommends thread colours, optimal stitch angles, and pull compensation values. This happens automatically before you digitize.
When a machine stitches a fill area, thread tension pulls the fabric inward slightly. Pull compensation automatically overshoots the edges by a small amount to counteract this. Most cheap digitizers skip this step entirely. Read the full technical guide.
